Meet Pastor Stephen J. Anderson. He preaches at Faithful Word Baptist Church in Phoenix, but instead of spreading the Christian word of love and compassion, he is literally teaching hate. This holy man is not only against gays and women and Jews, but he also routinely preaches about his extreme hatred of President Obama.

In 2009 Pastor Anderson told his congregation that his disdain for the President wasn’t because of Obama’s policies, but that he actually hated Obama himself. He said that he prays every night that President Obama will die and go directly to hell.

“And I’m going to tell you something. I hate Barack Obama. You say, well, you just mean you don’t like what he stands for. No, I hate the person. Oh, you mean you just don’t like his policies. No, I hate him.”

“And you’re going to tell me that I’m supposed to pray for the socialist devil murderer infanticide who wants to see young children and he wants to see babies killed through abortion, you’re gonna tell me I’m supposed to pray for God to give him a good lunch tomorrow when he’s in Phoenix, Arizona. Nope, I’m not gonna pray for his good. I’m going to pray that he dies and goes to Hell…When I go to bed tonight, Stephen J. Anderson is going to pray for Barack Obama to die and go to Hell.”

And if that isn’t disgusting enough, he gave a sermon on November 2 where he repeatedly called Obama a “bastard” and his mother a “whore.” And this probably won’t come as a surprise to you but the Pastor is also a proud birther. So Anderson used the assumption that Obama’s birth certificate is a fake to prove that no one really knows who the President’s father really is. And he added that because Obama’s mother got pregnant before she married Obama Sr., that proves that their child could only be a bastard.

“Even according to the official version, little Barry boy is a bastard. Because he was conceived out of wedlock. His mother has an illegitimate marriage to a guy who’s already married to somebody else…and then he’s actually raised by a guy named Lolo Soetoro. That’s who is actually raising him, and then he’s going around as Barry Soetoro…”

“Here’s the alternate version, which I actually believe to be reality. I do not believe that Barack Obama Sr. is probably even the real father. Because a lot of times, women will do this, wicked women will do this: where they would basically , you know, oh I’m pregnant, quick, marry somebody, OK, so basically, pass it off as, OK? Especially back in those days.”

Stephen L. Anderson, pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, has recently been jockeying to replace Westboro Baptist’s late Fred Phelps as Hatemonger-in-Chief. In a recent sermon, Anderson indicated that he had found the cure for AIDS in the Bible — and that cure, he said, was to execute all gay people because they are responsible for the virus.

” It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there,” he told his congregation after quoting from Leviticus. “Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

Anderson later added in a tantrum that rivals many five-year-olds that no “homo” would ever be allowed to attend his church because every single gay person is a pedophile. “You think we need some pedophile running around here? Now, let me just say right now — and you can go ahead and just put this in your pipe and smoke it — all homos are pedophiles. There, I said it. They’re all pedophiles,” he said.

After Anderson was condemned by multiple local pastors for his unabashed hatred, he doubled down on his remarks, posting a similar sermon from 2013 in which he explained that he got rid of a “reprobate” pet dog because it seemed a little gay.

In an interview with 12 News, Anderson explained that he hasn’t “always” hated gay people, but his bigotry bloomed at age 17 when he “read the Bible cover to cover.”

“When I heard your sermon,” interviewer Mark Curtis told Anderson, “it sounded like the rantings of someone who is either a hatemonger or a religious zealot. I’m wondering: which are you?”

Anderson responded:

I’m a religious zealot, and I love the Bible, I love God’s word, I believe that the law of the lord is perfect, and, you know, Leviticus 20:13 clearly says, “If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.” As a Christian, I believe the Bible, and that’s where I get my belief.

Anderson acknowledged that one of the Ten commandments is “Thou shalt not kill,” but said that:

What you have to understand is that the Bible commands that certain people be put to death — not by me, not by Christians. It’s obviously not my job or the job of any Christian to go out and kill anybody, and I’ve never taught anything like that.

Anderson explained that the onus of executing all the “homos” belongs to the government:

Rather than the government’s job is to punish criminals and to execute those who commit capital crimes and, according to the Bible, homosexuality is a capital crime, and I didn’t write the Bible.

Curtis asked Anderson if he had a gay son or daughter, would he want them to be put to death? Anderson’s answer, of course, was ‘that will never happen to me.’

Well, that’s just a fallacy that it just turns out that certain people are gay. That’s just a lie. Because it’s not random — it’s not something that’s just gonna accidentally happen to one of my children…

“Wait a minute — how do you think it happens, then?” the interviewer interrupted. Anderson continued:

Well, the Bible’s real clear in Romans Chapter 1. It talks about how God gives people over to a reprobate mind to do these filthy acts, so it has to do with them rejecting the lord and rejecting Jesus Christ.

Curtis asked again because he wants “to understand that [Anderson is] a man of his word,” if the good pastor had a gay son or daughter, what would he do in that situation?:

Well, it’s not gonna happen. If I did, I would have nothing to do with them. That’s like saying “What if your daughter grew up to be an axe murderer? What if your son grew up to be like Adolf Hitler? [...] It’s just a silly question.

“Well, as long as you bring up Adolf Hitler, he wanted to exterminate Jews and anyone who wasn’t blonde haired and blue-eyed and didn’t fit into his vision of the way people should be,” the interviewer noted. “Isn’t that, in a way, what you’re preaching — that you want to get rid of anyone who isn’t heterosexual?”

Anderson responded:

Absolutely not. I’m preaching the Bible, something that Adolf Hitler rejected. He taught evolution, which is why he wanted to execute what he considered inferior races.

“But you would like to see anyone who isn’t heterosexual die, correct?” the interviewer asked. Anderson began with, “Well, the Bible says that…” but was quickly cut off by Curtis, who demanded to know what Anderson personally believes.

“I believe the Bible, I believe what the Bible says, and if I didn’t I wouldn’t be a Baptist, I wouldn’t be a Christian,” Anderson told him.

“It sounds like, because you won’t answer what you believe, that you’re hiding behind the Bible,” Curtis said. anderson, of course, was not going to take this lying down.

“Hold on a second,” he admonished his sparring partner. “I believe what the Bible says, that homosexuals should be executed. Let me make myself clear: I believe that, and I’ve never gone back on that for one second.”

Curtis asked Anderson how he feels about Jews, possibly referencing the pastor’s more than 50-part series of hate rants against Jewish people or his two-part masterpiece, “The Jews and Their Lies.”

“Oh, I don’t hate Jews,” Anderson responded, apparently forgetting his own sermons. “I mean, that’s just a strawman to try to compare me to Hitler. I don’t hate Jews whatsoever.” Anderson also explained that he does not hate black people.

Curtis asked the Faithful Word pastor if he prayed for the death of Barack Obama. Anderson angrily replied:

Oh, so now Obama and the race card comes out. My church is filled with black people It’s filled with all races. In fact, the Bible says we’re all of one blood…

“Am I misquoting you, or did you say that you pray for the death of Barack Obama?” Curtis asked. Anderson argued that Obama is a white man:

Well, yes I did, but Obama’s white. Obama’s not black anyway. He’s half-white and half-black, so just as well as you can call him black, I’ll call him white. He’s a white man.

“Some will say that just the Taliban and ISIS fighters have perverted Islam and made it violent to fit their vision of the world, that’s what you’re doing is you’re perverting Christianity to fit your vision of the world,” Curtis said.

Anderson challenged viewers to read the Bible for themselves and make their own decision. Anderson explained that he doesn’t care if he is perceived as a hatemonger or his church as a hate group. The pastor maintains that people hate him because he is preaching God’s word…just like Jesus.
